As a social enterprise, it is important for us is to connect with the communities in which we, and our apprentices, work and live.

To this end we have created links with various community partners that include: Stepney City Farm in Tower Hamlets, the Green Flag Award-winning Myatt’s Fields Park in Lambeth, where we are based and where our apprentices do much of their initial training, the multi-award winning Van Gogh Walk and Vauxhall One’s RBC Waterscape Garden at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.

We help to maintain these sites and engage in the projects run at them for the benefit of the local community and our apprentices. Examples include:

  • Myatt’s Fields Park’s monthly gardening club – local residents are encouraged to grow their own fruit and vegetables in the park’s greenhouse. Streetscape provide support and advice in conjunction with the Friends of Myatt’s Fields Park.
  • We use these sites to host our recruitment days in landscape gardening for young people in the area who are long-term unemployed – our apprentices of the future.
  • We have also run many successful corporate volunteering days at all of these sites, it’s a great way for businesses to learn about horticulture and interact with our apprentices .

Feel free to contact us with any ideas you may have, or initiatives you are involved in; we’re always keen to hear more!

“Thanks so much to Streetscape for all your support and great teaching. It provided me a stepping stone from having little experience and job prospects, to confidently going into full time work as a gardener.
