Streetscape’s Partners

We like a bit of competition – it keeps us on our toes! – but, as a social enterprise, partnership at all levels is hugely important to us, creating virtuous circles that enable us to provide the highest standard of apprenticeships and landscaping. Take a read of our 2012-13 or 2013-14 Annual Report for Donors for more information on how these partnerships help us grow lives.  You can find out more about partnering with Streetscape through the Support Us pages.

KEITS

While we provide the apprenticeships on the ground, KEITS provide the Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture syllabus framework, register our apprentices for the  qualification and, most importantly, assess our apprentices’ progress through six-weekly visits to observe them working onsite and mark their online portfolios. It works well.

‘Streetscape gives young people a great opportunity to prepare for a career in Horticulture. In conjunction with KEITS, it provides a supportive training environment, opportunities to develop vocational skills in real, commercial settings and on completion, guides successful candidates to find relevant employment.’

Jeremy Curtis, KEITS assessor

‘If only all of our businesses were as organised and supportive as Streetscape. The business dedicate Monday mornings to theory for the learners’ qualifications. I went to sign up a new learner at this business the other day and noticed a large board in their meeting room. They have a board where they record all of the learners units and what units have been completed so far. They also have a chart on there where they record the learners’ punctuality, plant names test (where they have to give Latin names etc for plants/shrubs) and work ethic etc. and at the end of each week the employer gives the winner a small bonus on their salary. What a great idea.’

Provender Nurseries

“Streetscape has been maintaining the entranceway to our business, Provender Nurseries, for over a year now.  As a wholesale plant supplier to the trade it is very important to us and our clients that our entrance is well maintained and professional looking.  Since Streetscape has been looking after the entrance we have had many compliments on how well maintained it is kept.  The people who work for Streetscape are a pleasure to have on site as they work in a clean, tidy, polite and professional manner at all times.  Provender Nurseries are happy to support such a worthwhile charitable cause which brings new talent into the world of horticulture.”
