Streetscape is an award-winning social enterprise; dedicated to providing apprenticeships in landscape gardening.  Our aim is to enable you to fulfil your career objectives, by building the skills, experience and attributes you need to move into and retain work. Our gardening apprenticeships are about growing lives, transforming landscapes.

Streetscape apprenticeships are paid and last a year, during which time you will spend the majority of your time learning soft and hard landscaping skills, and working onsite for residential, corporate and commercial clients. All the while you will be working under the expert guidance of one of our experienced landscapers and building evidence towards a Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture.

Apprentices will achieve and undertake real site work experience in:

  • Soft landscaping: garden makeovers, site preparation, planting and pruning
  • Hard landscaping: construction of garden decking, bricklaying, paving and fencing.

Streetscape offers a comprehensive fully funded training package to include:

  • Practical skills and personal development training in Group and 1:2:1 training on commercial landscaping sites
  • Funded external short course/horticultural licence of your choice
  • Maths and English functional skills support
  • Contribute £200 towards driving lessons, and pay fully for one theory test and one practical test
  • A CSCS training course, and CSCS test
  • Support you in finding work via our Career Scaper Scheme, where you will be advised on how to look for, achieve and retain work in horticulture and on CV writing and interview skills
  • Tools kit bag and protective equipment supplied
  • Visits to gardens, companies and guest speakers
  • External work placement to gain wider experience with London employers

Throughout the apprenticeship, increased responsibility will be conferred, including the chance to lead projects and onsite work.

We apply no geographic restriction on applicants, however, we are based in Myatt’s Fields Park, Lambeth SE5 9RA, and the majority of our work is in South/South-East London so, if you’re not from this area, be prepared to travel!

What do we want from applicants? We are not worried about qualifications, experience or past problems. We are looking for candidates who are unemployed, aged 18-25 years old and have:

  • A strong desire to work in an outdoor trade
  • Drive and willingness to learn
  • Team-player mentality
  • A strong work ethic
  • Commitment to the year-long apprenticeship
  • Excellent punctuality
  • Honesty, openness, and a good sense of humour

If you are interested in applying for one of our apprenticeships, please contact Darren Townsend on: 07495 679 729 or email darren@streetscape.org.uk for more information.
